Vive la Femme à l’OBC !
L’humanité tout entière est une émanation de la femme et ce n’est pas à tort que l’on dit que la femme est la mère de l’humanité. Le 08 Mars, Journée Internationale des droits de la Femme, est le moment de faire une pause et de célébrer la femme dans sa globalité et sa pluralité. L’Office du Baccalauréat du Cameroun, entreprise citoyenne a bel et bien coché cette date du calendrier. Durant toute une semaine, nous avons assisté à une pléthore d’activités au siège social de l’Office du Baccalauréat organisées par son Directeur Général, M. Etienne Roger MINKOULOU.
La femme de l’Office du Baccalauréat du Cameroun a appris ce jeudi 6 mars 2025 à soutenir les efforts de son homme en organisant des activités génératrices de revenus annexes et à s’autonomiser, à la suite d’un séminaire de renforcement de capacités exposé par la brillante équipe du Ministère de la Promotion de la Femme et de la Famille. Le thème de ce jour portait sur : « Pour toutes les femmes et les filles : droits, égalité et autonomisation ». Les émissaires du Ministère de la Promotion de la Femme et de la Famille n’ont pour autant pas manqué de lever le quiproquo en signalant que l’autonomie de la femme n’est pas synonyme de bicéphalisme, d’orgueil et de querelle dans le cocon familial. Le programme bien chargé de la semaine s’est poursuivi vendredi 7 mars dès l’arrivée du personnel au siège. Au programme, journée gastronomique avec les mets du terroir ; dans l’après-midi, table ronde organisée autour du thème : « Les cancers chez la femme » ; et enfin investissement humain : « OBC femme propre ». Pour ne pas faire les choses à moitié, le Board de l’Office du Baccalauréat est allé chercher ce qui se fait le mieux en médecine au Cameroun. Deux médecins colonels de l’armée nous ont entretenus autour de la problématique grandissante des cancers chez les femmes. Le lieutenant-colonel Dr Onana a commencé par nous donner les statistiques globales sur les cancers. Nous avons ainsi appris, entre autres, que 20 millions de nouveaux cas de cancer sont diagnostiqués chaque année dans le monde. Le Cameroun, par exemple, diagnostique 4.000 nouveaux cas chaque année, tout type de cancer compris. Pour mieux planter le décor et susciter l’adhésion et l’attention de son auditoire, le Dr Onana signale que le cancer est derrière les problèmes cardio-vasculaires, la deuxième cause de mortalité dans le monde, le maillot jaune des cancers chez la femme étant celui du sein. « Le cancer du sein est, au Cameroun, le type de cancer le plus diagnostiqué, devant le cancer du poumon chez les femmes », affirma l’oncologue, de quoi bien planter le décor avant l’intervention du colonel, Dr GWENE. La seconde intervention nous a édifiés sur les causes (alimentation, alcoolisme, tabagisme, négligence), les conséquences, les méthodes de diagnostic et les méthodes de traitement, et surtout les moyens de prévention de cette maladie mortelle, car disons-le, un cancer diagnostiqué rapidement augmente les chances de guérison. Vous l’aurez certainement deviné, les cancers du sein et du col de l’utérus sont les principaux types de cancers chez la femme, juste devant le cancer des poumons en hausse du fait que, de nos jours, les femmes consomment de plus en plus de tabac, de drogue et d’alcool. La seule question à la fin de ce brillant exposé de médecins chevronnés était de savoir quand ce duo de médecins reviendrait pour s’occuper des hommes également. Après cette matinée bien chargée, place au divertissement autour des recettes de grand-mère. Une ambiance bon enfant a meublé la semaine avec notamment des émotions fortes lors la visites de l’orphelinat jusqu’à la soirée dansante le jour-dit dans une grande salle de la place.
